Hong Kong fine Jewellery fair....diamonds diamonds...

Last weekend I went to the Hong Kong fine jewellery fair which is a world reknowed fair such as the Basel Jewellery fair. Although it is much more affordable to have a booth and therefore the prices are more competitive..  There were over 3000 exhibitors split into 3 pavilions- the Hong Kong, Indian and International.

It was quiet refreshing not to be there for a particular work mission although the only reason I could get into the fair was because I am in the jewellery trade. They were very strict with business cards, passport checks etc..but it was all worth it to enjoy the sparkle of Diamonds:).
My passion for fine jewellery is something that has got stronger and stronger over the years...to the point I wish I had focused on jewellery instead of fashion during my studies....But thanks to my job I have learnt so much regarding the jewellery industry....and hope to continue..

The main trend I saw was the use of black, grey and ice diamonds.... very popular in Asia at the moment..offering combinations of black and white or a gradation of grey diamonds. I love the large ring bands of black diamonds, so chic.
A few concerns though.. is it too fashion driven and of course the quality of the diamond can not be compared to a white diamond...they are much more brittle. The price is yet obviously cheaper making it attractive for the end consumer but is it even worth the prices they are asking? But besides all that I still love the look!:)

I managed to see some beautiful jewellery and left feeling inspired and with a HUGE touch of diamond envy.... which I guess is natural:)!!

Victoria Beckham`s new handbag line..

Is it true...will a Beckham replace your Birkin?? Well this is what Victoria is striving for...
Victoria Beckham launched her new handbag range at her Spring Summer 2011 Catwalk show in New York and which seems with great success so far.

Victoria has come a long way since her Posh Spice days sitting on a kitsch purple throne thinking she was queen.... to becoming a very stylish, successful and chic fashion designer/Mom. Got to say, I am a huge fan!!
The elegant and wearable collection of 26 dresses are pretty damn fabulous! I love the two white dresses above. The handbag collection is said to be made with top quality, like the dresses, it oozes luxury and refinement which is so timeless, and with prices of around $3500 a bag it better be for more than one season!

Soles too good for walking!

It`s a crazy fashion world where the sole of the shoe sometimes gets more hype than the shoe itself! This winter we can add the Italian designer, Cesare Paciotti, to the A-list soles giving Christian Louboutin a run for his money....if that is possible?

Cesare Paciotti are so on trend it is scary, with their feminine lace printed soles which are clearly too good to be walking on! Spot the delicate pattern on a scarlet red background for Winter 2010 and nude colour for Spring Summer 2011. Pretty pretty...be sure to give a little kick when walking for all to see :))

Our first swim with Freds swim trainer...

Sebastian was so brave....he really enjoyed his first swim with his swim trainer....no tears just cute smiles. It was quiet easy to put on after you had blown up all the 100 different sections:) Sebastian also felt secure although I think it will fit even better once he gets a bit bigger.

Overall I give it a thumbs up!!

Nicholas Kirkwood unveils his collaboration with Keith Haring at On Pedder in Hong Kong..

British designer, Nicholas Kirkwood, the man behind this winters "it" lace booties was just in Hong Kong for the exclusive launch of his special collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation.
A capsule collection of 12 styles, featuring Nicholas`s first ballerina, each designed around a specific art work of Haring's. The collection is anticipated to launch worldwide in February of 2011.

I am not sure if these shoes are meant to be worn or just put on the mantel piece as an art work ?:) Unique is definitely the word, making a fantastic artistic fashion statement with  sculptured shapes pushing all the boundaries.

On Pedder, Hong Kong is one of three stores worldwide to stock the collection, with Dover Street Market in London and Maxfield in Los Angeles. On Pedder is beyond fabulous and is Asia’s foremost source of designer footwear, handbags, fine jewelry and fashion accessories making it the perfect spot for Nicholas Kirkwoods first retail space

There will also be a Nicolas Kirkwood treat at London Fashion Week: Kirkwood will be launching an eight-day online pop-up shop, where his collaborations with Rodarte, Erdem, and Peter Pilotto will be available for pre-sale, with the promise of early delivery. So you have them before the shops do....perfect for the serious fashionista Moms!!

Petunia Pickle Bottom...Valet Stroller Clips

Petunia Pickle Bottom have a must have accessory for every Mom - Valet Stroller clips. I didn`t need them with my Joolz pram as my nappy bag attached conveniently to the pram but now I am using the Maclaren they are a life saver!

The clips easily attach to the handle of your pram with a velcro closure, fitting most sizes of handles. Your nappy bag can then be easily clipped on enabling you to have your hands free.

Just remember to double check the weight of your packed nappy bag to avoid the pram from being unstable.

Weight Limit Test:
  1. Attach the empty diaper bag to the stroller while the stroller is unoccupied.
  2. Once the bag is attached, fill the bag until the weight of the bag threatens to cause the stroller to become unstable or tip over.
  3. Always ensure that the bag weighs less than this amount when attaching the bag to the stroller.

You can order them online.:
or buy them at Prince and Princess in Zurich for chf 29

"Baby friendly" Four Seasons!

We hopped on the ferry to Macau to celebrate Philipp`s Birthday...which turned out to be a wonderful relaxing little break. We stayed at the Four Seasons which I have to say was just outstanding. The service was amazing and we were lucky to be upgraded to a 2000 sq ft suite which was dreamy!! They were so "baby friendly" bringing in a cot, sterilizer, bottle warmer, bath and even a special package with nappies, baby lotions etc.. we were very impressed ....and so was Sebastian, especially when he received a cute little blue elephant as a gift!

We brought Sebastian along for dinner so we could all celebrate Philipps birthday together with my Mom, which ended up working so well as he slept through the whole dinner. It felt very strange pushing the MacLaren in High Heels ..... a very High Heels and Nappies moment!!I :)

We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend an escape from HK to the Four Seasons Macau...tip: it was lovely to be there during the week as we enjoyed the peace and quiet...instead of the weekend madness!

Sebastian in Hong Kong...

We have been in HK for three weeks and enjoying every minute yet time is flying! Sebastian is loving HK... he suffered from a bit of jet lag the first three days wanting to play between 8 and 12pm but by day 4 he was back on track....sleeping through the night like a little angel.

Sebastian has become a professional shopper at 4 and half months:) As he is not a huge fan of the heat so we cruise the fabulous air conditioned shopping malls of HK a lot.. Luckily they have amazing shopping centers and cater so well for babies with designer changing rooms. A special room with dim lighting a changing table, feeding chair are available making the feeding, changing etc so easy and stress free.

The Maclaren was an amazing buy.. he sleeps like a champion and it is so light and easy to manage.. can not imagine traveling with my big pram in HK. Would have been a disaster plus you can ride the escalators easily instead of having to find a elevator.

Sebastian went on his first boat trip yesterday.. a fabulous 65 foot motor yacht if I must say:).... not a bad start for my little man! Thanks to the Edwards for organizing a wonderful day..
My cute little sailor having a sleep on board.
Mommy enjoying a glass of bubbles on the upper deck!

But got to say around 4 months seems to be the perfect travel age as it has been a dream... so if you are thinking of a trip ..go for it!
