Marie-Chantal...beautiful clothing for beautiful children

A true Princess designing clothing for your own little Prince and Princess... how good does that sound?:)
The Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece has a successful childrens clothing line named Marie-Chantal which offers a range of gorgeous clothing for babies, boys and girls as well as fun toys and accessories. Marie-Chantal has five beautiful children and so she definitely knows what she is talking about and no doubt practicality and comfort is considered in every piece as well as embodying her very own stylish elegance.

Marie-Chantal have just launched their new website where you can view the entire range and shop easily...although the delivery to Zurich is quiet expensive, best to look at the store list and plan a visit.
I love the signature angel wing range... super cute cosy onesies available in velour or soft cashmere including jerseys for girls.

I often get asked where you can find nice Christening outfits and so take note that Marie-Chantal has a pretty collection which is not too crazy expensive ranging from £65 - £178

Super stylish little ones!

Interview with Racha Fajjari - TV Host, entrepreneur and creator of BABYLICIOUS.CH

I had the pleasure of interviewing the beautiful TV - host, entrepreneur and now Mother...Racha Fajjari. Hearing all about her new business, Babylicious ...an online shop for fashionable babies, kids and Mom`s.

Racha and her gorgeous baby boy Maximilian

HHAN: So firstly congratulations on the birth of your gorgeous baby boy Maximilian, you and Tom look like very proud parents. Is it everything and more than you imagined it would be?
Racha:  Yes, it was just an unbelievable feeling to hold Max in my arms for the first time...it was unconditional love from the moment we laid eyes on each other. Funny how life works out because if you told me two years ago that I’ll be married and a Mother today I’d probably would have not believed you....but the man of my dreams came along and from day one we knew this will be it...
HHAN: You have had quiet a year...taking on Motherhood and a new business...so what inspired you to start Babylicious?
Racha: During the first trimester of my pregnancy I was lucky enough to travel all over Australia and America with my husband. As you can imagine, there was lots of "baby shopping" (although often forgetting the season and size should match☺ being an over excited new pregnant shopper!) I discovered so many cool brands that I couldn’t find in Switzerland which inspired me to start my own business ....and that is how Babylicious was born.....an online shop selling special items from all over the world for fashionable babies, kids and Mom`s.

HHAN: What are the Babylicious "must have" items for our tiny tots this winter?
Racha: For winter we are focusing on keeping your babies snug and cosy with the finest Scottish cashmere, velour and cotton.  Found in timeless shades of beige, grey, babyblue, off white and pink.... but get ready for next summer as it will be very colourful and fun!

Some of our best selling items perfect for Zurich`s cold winter!!

HHAN loves these jeans from Bellybutton with the comfy waistband...too cute!!
HHAN: What new and exciting things are planned for Babylicious next year?
Racha: Oh it is going to be a good year! We have Tommy Hilfiger, Paul Frank, Baby of the Beast, Bugaboo and many more cool brands on board.........and most importantly the grand opening of our Babylicious store in Seefeld, Zurich.  It will be a great place for Mom`s to shop as well as hang out and enjoy a coffee.  Also expect to find new product ranges such as furniture and other practical must haves at Babylicious. Can`t wait till it opens in May 2011!!

HHAN: I love the intergrated coffee shop idea...Mom`s in Zurich definitely need more cool places to hang out ...exciting!
Racha: That’s exactly what I thought and yes, my girlfriends and I are looking forward to our new "Mama hang out". We are going to create a cool and relaxed atmosphere with obviously good music:)....it will be a new concept for Zurich.... plus it will be practical with a dedicated section for Mom`s to breastfeed in privacy.

HHAN: You sound like a very busy bee...how are you managing your new role as a Mom and starting a business?
Racha: I’ve been a workaholic my whole life. I am used to juggling many things at the same time. ....and let`s not forget, I have a wonderful family that helps me run my life with my baby boy, dog, hectic household and growing business. We are just a great team!!

HHAN: Any advice for other Moms who are trying to be entrepreneurial?
Racha: Yes, start while your pregnant and do something you can handle from home.  Also make sure it’s something you are passionate about as it is not so easy to just start a business ...you need to build a good network. It took me five years to get there.....but where there`s a will there`s a way!!

Gucci`s new Childrenswear advertising campaign - Jennifer Lopez and her twins

Gucci`s new childrenswear advertising campaign has just been unveiled.... starring Jennifer Lopez and her two year old twins, Max and Emme. The campaign was shot in Malibu by photographers Mert and Marcus.
It seems every luxury brand is launching a childrenswear range these days.. obviously new parents are willing to spend big bucks on their precious little ones!!
But this is not just any launch...as Gucci will donate US$ 1 million in honor of the launch.... for UNICEF's ‘Schools for Africa’ initiative, with a specific focus on Mozambique and Malawi.
Go Gucci!
Gorgeous..
Jennifer Lopez said she could not say no to the campaign because of the good cause....Gucci will also be donating US$ 50,000 to her non-profit organization, The Maribel Foundation. Which she started with her sister helping to improve the health and medical care of women and children.
Watch the behind the scene footage...looks like they had a lot of fun!

The new children's collection will launch on November 20th.....Universal Children's Day!

Milk on the Rocks... something for the boys!!

I loved this brand straight away when I read the founder and creative director, Julia Kang was inspired by her son in order to start her company. She found that there was very little interesting kidswear for boys available in the market.  So she decided to build a brand for unisex and boys' clothing. Over the years they have expanded into girls' clothes as well....but still 60% of their collections remain for boys. Yeahhh!:)

Milk on the Rocks has a very cool urban style and famous for their witty, quirky and crazy screen prints, appliqués and embroideries. They are inspired by adult edgy fashion turning it into a cool look for kids from new borns to 12 year olds.

Their new prints for Autumn Winter 10/11

They have a shop in Paris which also sells a fun selection of Japanese toys...which I love!
For my Hong Kong readers....almost the full "Milk on the Rocks" collection can be found at the new Mama Kid store just opened in Central which I think it definitely worth checking out! Plus don`t miss the exclusive designs which they create for Barney`s New York.

Belle Heir....Vintage clothing for babies and children

So vintage items are not only hip for adults but finding a one of a kind, beautifully crafted item for your tiny tot, dating back as far as the 1900`s, is also pretty cool!

Belle Heir was created out of our love of fine vintage and in appreciation of the care, quality and attention to detail that once went into the construction of clothing: hand-stitching, smocking, pin-tucks, pleating, embroidery and button-work.

They sought out the most unique and original pieces from this lost age of elegance and offer you these treasures to become your child's own, one-of-a-kind keepsakes or beautiful gifts for those you love.

Perfect for a Christening or a special occasion as you obviously need to treat these unique finds with care but there are instructions on their site and they also rate the condition of the pieces as some might have slight imperfections although I guess that is part of the charm and romance of vintage.

Luckily they do ship outside of the US and the prices are reasonable, perfect for a gift.

Another babies wardrobe essential!

So now that I have become a master of the "quick clothing change" ....allowing for only minimal screaming :) I have some advice on wardrobe essentials!
First of all as mentioned a few times in my blog.... you need babygrows and lots!! Especially if winter, thats all babies will want to wear! I love the plain white ones... so easy to wash and all babies look just adorable in white. Try to buy baby grows which button up the front as when they are new borns it is a bit nerve wracking to pull something over their little wobbly head.

Then the next MUST is a great pair of slouchy elasticated pants... I def. did not have enough when Sebastian was born. They were also not so easy to find...either to bulky or the elasticated waist band felt so tight or they were for girls! But I can def. recommend the pants from Imps and ElfsA trendy, yet practical and affordable Dutch brand which are not only committed to fair trade but use the softest organic cotton. They have a great cut for maximum movement and Sebastian is living in his! Have a look at their website as they are oozing some serious cool baby style! www.imps-elfs.com

Also another tip for summer... it is all about layering! When you go out and it is hot it is so easy to just pull off the pants as apposed to removing a snug all in one.. I learnt the hard way with a little tantrum down Bahnhofstrasse which was not fun yet all part of the steep learning curve!!:))
