To platform or not to platform this Spring Summer...new shoe poll!

Every season there seems to be a controversial shoe and for Spring Summer 2011 I would say it is the solid platform or in fashion lingo the "lifted" shoe!
Elle Magazine January 2011

So is this the new silhouette you have been waiting for? Adding a few inches or is it just to flat and chunky to be sexy?? The big question is will you be platforming or not this Summer?
Tick the box in the poll on the right and lets see if it is going to be a trend for all or not!

Burberry - personalized trench coat service to be available in 2011!!

Oh this is interesting news for all the Burberry fans out there....an innovative online digital platform is due to hit early next year allowing consumers to adapt the iconic Burberry trench coat with your own personalized details.  You will be able to choose your style, colour, fabric, lining, buttons, embellishment as well as individual details such as initials. There will be more than 12 million possible versions of the coat , yet prices have not been revealed. Each coat will be finished in their Yorkshire based factory.

This sounds like a lot of fun and a Burberry Trench coat is one of those good investment pieces as they always look chic and elegant no matter what you are wearing underneath....perfect for the morning school run with your pyjamas underneath:) ....dying to try the new tool and well lets see the price before I hit the order button...yet i think the biggest problem will be to decide on the perfect combination!

Emma Watson wearing the first bespoke Trench coat which Christopher Bailey gave her as a gift ....great to be famous, hey!:)
The "mini adult" version of the Burberry trench for kids $350
Just a gorgeous pic of Kate in her trench...

TOM FORD IS SMOKING HOT!!...

Got to say Mr. Ford (as he would rather be known as these days)  is rather gorgeous!!!
I am sure many women are sad that he is batting for the other team...

Well after six years Tom Ford presented his first women`s wear collection in New York on the 12th September yet interestingly he banned journalists from revealing the collection till now. Read his comments behind this thought process..
.
“I do not understand everyone’s need to see everything online the day after a show,” he says. “I don’t think it ultimately serves the customer, which is the whole point of my business—not to serve journalists or the fashion system. To put something out that’s going to be in a store in six months, and to see it on a starlet, ranked in US magazine next week? My customer doesn’t want to wear the same thing she saw on a starlet!”

I rather like his thinking....a bit of secrecy and anticipation keeps the excitement alive once the collection hits the stores....what do you think?

Vogue have written a fantastic article about the gorgeous Tom Ford, his women's wear collection as well as some rather personal and daring stories which is definitely worth a read! Vogue -Tom Ford article

CHANEL Spring Summer 2011...

Vogue described the show as: "EPIC", "immense", "extravagant" - as the Chanel show came to a close this morning it was all we could do to splutter the biggest words we could think of to describe it.

Karl Lagerfeld always shows in the Grand Palais and he always puts on a spectacle - but today he had planned an extravaganza on a much, much bigger scale.

The entire floor space of the building had been transformed into a beautiful black and white maze of a French garden set around three fountains about which seemingly endless models walked. "This must surely be every model in Paris," Kate Phelan said as they walked by.

Karl not only had every model in Paris but he had the whole family coming down the runway too...father and son in their matching Chanel jackets!! So cute!
Loving the necklaces.. great mix of chunky chain and fabric...
Not loving the shoes though...never been a fan of a platform
Love the gloves and of course the handbag...
Need a large umbrella hat for next summer!

Great to see Ines de la Fressange back on the catwalk...

Paris Fashion week withdrawal symptoms....

Usually every year I am in Paris for fashion week, attending the jewellery fairs and Fashion week exhibitions in order to mark new trends. Paris is one of my favorite cities and being there for Fashion week is electrifying....just walking down Rue Saint-Honoré, taking in the amazing energy.......spotting celebrities and fashion editors dressed to the nines looking like they just stepped off the runway themselves..

So I would be lying to say that I don`t miss it just a little:)).... even though Sebastian is keeping me extremely busy and entertained....he is 5 months now, so expressive, loves to giggle and wants to either rollover or sit up at any chance he gets....very cute!

But back to fashion :)... So thank god for the internet and blogs to keep us up to date...I am following Sandra`s blog www.sandrascloset.com in order to get my fashion week fix at the moment.

In terms of early trends, Colour is key......seen dominating the Spring Summer 2011 catwalks so far in a  palette of clean, sharp and jewel brights used in exciting colour-clashing combinations...perfect for marking an optimistic mood for the season ahead.

Colour also makes an impact through print and patterns...offbeat mixes, dramatic stripes and pretty florals.

Looks like a great start to the season and lots more trend updates to come..
