25 ct Pink Cushion Cut Diamond...need I say more??

Yes you are looking at a vision of pink beauty.....the 25 carat cushion cut diamond, once owned by Harry Winston, is magnificent. It will be auctioned today (16th November) at Sotheby`s in Geneva, valued at £24 million.... interested to see the final price as it could be the worlds most expensive diamond ever sold.

Was wondering why Philipp was off to Geneva today:) he better keep lifting his hand because it has my name written all over it!! Well yes in my dreams! hee hee:)

Hong Kong fine Jewellery fair....diamonds diamonds...

Last weekend I went to the Hong Kong fine jewellery fair which is a world reknowed fair such as the Basel Jewellery fair. Although it is much more affordable to have a booth and therefore the prices are more competitive..  There were over 3000 exhibitors split into 3 pavilions- the Hong Kong, Indian and International.

It was quiet refreshing not to be there for a particular work mission although the only reason I could get into the fair was because I am in the jewellery trade. They were very strict with business cards, passport checks etc..but it was all worth it to enjoy the sparkle of Diamonds:).
My passion for fine jewellery is something that has got stronger and stronger over the years...to the point I wish I had focused on jewellery instead of fashion during my studies....But thanks to my job I have learnt so much regarding the jewellery industry....and hope to continue..

The main trend I saw was the use of black, grey and ice diamonds.... very popular in Asia at the moment..offering combinations of black and white or a gradation of grey diamonds. I love the large ring bands of black diamonds, so chic.
A few concerns though.. is it too fashion driven and of course the quality of the diamond can not be compared to a white diamond...they are much more brittle. The price is yet obviously cheaper making it attractive for the end consumer but is it even worth the prices they are asking? But besides all that I still love the look!:)

I managed to see some beautiful jewellery and left feeling inspired and with a HUGE touch of diamond envy.... which I guess is natural:)!!

Victoria Beckham`s new handbag line..

Is it true...will a Beckham replace your Birkin?? Well this is what Victoria is striving for...
Victoria Beckham launched her new handbag range at her Spring Summer 2011 Catwalk show in New York and which seems with great success so far.

Victoria has come a long way since her Posh Spice days sitting on a kitsch purple throne thinking she was queen.... to becoming a very stylish, successful and chic fashion designer/Mom. Got to say, I am a huge fan!!
The elegant and wearable collection of 26 dresses are pretty damn fabulous! I love the two white dresses above. The handbag collection is said to be made with top quality, like the dresses, it oozes luxury and refinement which is so timeless, and with prices of around $3500 a bag it better be for more than one season!

Ring trends

I am crazy about rings at the moment and the various new silhouettes  ....we layered and piled on necklaces for seasons and now we will do the same with rings... I love the look captured in the new BCBG Autumn Winter catalogue shot below...a very strong feminine statement...maybe not to be taken one to one but I definitely see embellished hands as a strong trend.

So I have already talked about the long rings from BCBG which were inspired by Repossi, but got to show you the new designs as they are pretty fabulous! Plus they are such a great price - $78 to $118!

To complete the look you have to add a "double ring"...making the ultimate fashion statement....or if you are not as daring....it is also enough of a statement on it`s own.  I am dying to try one as I am sure it must be a unique feeling to have two fingers locked together... All in the name of fashion I guess!!

Repossi inspiration...

I found some great "Repossi" inspired rings from BCBG and have to say their jewellery collection is quiet cool and very very affordable, with some sparkling statement necklaces for under $100! I need to have a closer look at the rings but for $148 it is definitely worth a squizz! www.bcbg.com

Another option is the new Repossi and Alexander Wang collaborated collection. They created designs with the signature ring silhouette which provocatively covers your finger for 1150 Euros. www.colette.fr

Push Present!

So I got a comment on my blog this morning asking me what a "PUSH PRESSIE" is and well girls this is something you should def. know about!:) A push present is a gift you get from your husband for "pushing" out your little miracle and even though your baby is the greatest gift you will ever get a bit of bling bling doesn`t hurt:)

Philipp was always a bit skeptical of the push pressie but after the birth he said I def. deserved one!! Sooooo.....I am still searching for the perfect gift even though he has already been spoiling me. Traditionally it is a ring or a piece of jewellery which is given but it doesn`t have to be super expensive more something which will hold sentimental value.

So for all the Fathers reading, this is good for you to note....no pressure!!:)))

Some push pressie ideas to get you thinking...

The Sentimental:
A piece of jewellery with your babies birth stone... Sebastian`s is a diamond..isn`t that a stroke of luck!!
The Classic:
Tiffany`s charm bracelet or celebration rings...You can go for the charms in sterling silver or gold.  A charm or a sparkling band can then be added or stacked for each special moment to come.

The fashionista:
Worth to have a look at on trend boutique jewellery designers which are selling unique and affordable fine jewellery. Ginette NY, delicate and refined gold jewellery, special pendants with your or your babies initials can be customed made. www.ginette-ny.com
Vanessa Tugendhaft has a gorgeous selection of bracelets with delicate motifs in pavé diamonds. www.vtjoaillerie.com Pretty Pretty!!
Stephen Webster, recently launched a successful sterling silver collection which is fabulous...even though his fine jewellery is hard to beat. www.stephenwebster.com

The big spender:
When money is no object and we can dream for a minute I would kill for the Allegra De Grisogono ring or the Cartier Panther ring:)

So girls, what is on your wish list??!!

10-year anniversary of Bulgari`s iconic B.zero1 ring

In order to celebrate the B.zero1 rings 10th Anniversary Bulgari has launched two ceramic variations as well as collaborating with the very cool contemporary artist Anish Kapoor.

These fabulous rings bring together two of my all time favorites: ceramic and rose gold...what more is there to love! If you can`t decide you need to take both as the white version is perfect for summer and black for winter:))
Always a fan of the collaboration between fashion and art!
Anish Kapoors limited edition ring embodies his works characteristics of bold curved forms and reflective surfaces creating a very modern yet timeless jewellery/art piece. The ring is made of steel and rose gold.

Anish Kapoor  - Cloud gate sculpture

And....it only gets better... at around $900 they seem like a bit of steel from Bulgari.
Could be a great "push" pressie idea!?

Be a bag - Anya Hindmarch

Charlotte, a fellow fabulous "High Heels and Nappies" Mom mentioned she had just created a special "Be a bag" from Anya Hindmarch. So thought I would share the idea with you as even though it is not a new concept it is still a winner! You send in or upload a special photo and create your very own personal bag. I tried out a photo of Sebastian on one of the shopper bag styles to see how it works. The shopper is a perfect size for all the millions of things you need to carry around with a little one. I am a fan! - Dannijo jewellery collection

I am a big fan of the Jewellery brand, Dannijo. Founded by sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder in 2008, the jewellery is hand made in New York and offers an eclectic range of designs.

I noticed them a few seasons ago and they are def. making an impressive mark in many editorials today. I love the mix of materials, styles and techniques which are uniquely and artistically assembled. A cool contrast of vintage hollywood glamour with a rock `n roll edge... offering a polished uptown feel with raw downtown flair. Got to love that!:)

See a few of my favorite pieces below...www.dannijo.com
