Curves and cleavage!!

I love the new winter Louis Vuitton campaign.....Steven Meisel shot Christy Turlington, Natalia Vordinova and Karen Elson in an old fashioned Hollywood star`s styled dressing room.
Also a big Thank you to Louis Vuitton for bringing curves and cleavage back, perfect for us breast feeding Mommy`s!!:)

Crazy about Camel!!

Camel is THE colour for Winter, supporting the trend for the return to classic and timeless dressing. I just loooooove the head to toe camel look. You can also accent it with a classic flannel grey which is so elegant and stylish. Therefore I would say the perfect investment piece this winter would definitely be a beautiful camel coat.
I am now on a mission to find the perfect coat shape and plan to have one tailored in Hong Kong. I might even splash out on a removable fur collar and leopard print lining:)

Nursery decoration - Wall stickers

I love these wall stickers...I have been looking for something to decorate Sebastian`s nursery with which is not as permanent as painting the walls and which is not heavy so it could possibly fall off the wall. So I think I found the perfect answer.

They look easy to stick on and you can remove them without damaging the paint ..plus they are such a good price (+ - £20) you can keep changing them as eventually Sebastian will have a say in what he wants on his wall!

These are the best websites I found so far:
Spin collections www.spincollective.co.uk  - Graphic clean designs which can be selected in a number of colours. They make special custom names and motifs and can be ship worldwide.
Great colour selection

Second website is Blick www.whatisblik.com they have many different designers working on fun patterns and even 3D designs such as below.

Third website is www.chocovenyl.co.uk they have a number of world class designers working on trendy and innovative designs. You can apply the chocovenyl products to almost any flat surface: walls, mirrors, doors, glass, fridges etc.. Basic application is just "Peel and Stick". As the material is repositionable, one can always peel it off the surface and stick it again.
Fun Fun Fun!!!

Hong Kong count down...

I am trying to get organized and mentally prepared for the long flight to HK. A three week count down today and got to say I can`t wait!! I have major withdrawal symptoms, it has been way to long since I was last in Hong Kong, even though it is going to be a very different experience with Sebastian. No crazy nights dancing on bar tops....or are you still allowed to do that as a Mom??:) If not, I am willing to break the rules as I have the best baby sitter possible, My Mom and Sebastian`s Zsa Zsa. So it is going to be great to have some fun, catching up with old friends and know he is in the best hands.

Philipp will be joining for two weeks in the middle of my 6 week trip...which is great as then he is not away from us for too long, think he will especially miss Sebastian. But this also means I will be traveling there and back on my own! Yikes! So I am now on a mission to try and research all the brilliant tips for flying with a 4 month old!

So if anybody has any good advice please share...Moms have got to stick together here as hoping he will just fall asleep avoiding any nasty stares!!

I Promise to report the experience and share any learnings which can help you jet around peacefully!

Baby Equipment!

If you are now shopping and preparing for the arrival of your little one you are probably feeling a bit over whelmed by the number of items you need and the huge choice.  I remember breaking into a sweat trying to pick out the perfect car seat!!:)  It also feels like the spending spree will never end and well, it doesn't!.  You will spend a small fortune on a fabulous pram and before you know it you will need to buy a light buggy for traveling and whizzing round the city....which I agree is a must have! We got the Maclaren which everyone seems to rave about so expecting big things! Tip: compared to Zurich it is half the price in London...so plan a shopping trip to London!

There is also an endless amount of activity equipment: play mat, swinging, bouncy, feeding chairs etc to select from...although I would definitely buy a play mat first. Sebastian has been on his mat every day since day one! So you get your moneys worth there! Have a look at Nattou for some colour friendly combinations although the experts are not lying when they say babies like bright colours, so if you can handle it best to get something fun. Fisher Price is always a winner!
                                   My Nattou play mat
Overall it is fantastic if you can borrow from a friend or family. Later on you will end up lending your things so best to share share share! You then have a few items to rotate plus they don`t need them for long and if you have a baby like Sebastian he will out grow everything fast!
I just borrowed a Baby Bjorn chair, to complement my swing chair, which I have to say is pretty fantastic! It is super light so you can take it to friends who dont have child friendly houses or carry it round the house so you are able to shower and know he is safely sitting outside the door:) It has different height levels and bounces which sends him to sleep, when they get a bit older they work out how to bounce them selves. Bonus!

Well that just touched the surface....play pens, baby carriers, feeding chairs...and the list goes on.. but hopefully this helps so far. Happy shopping!

Repossi inspiration...

I found some great "Repossi" inspired rings from BCBG and have to say their jewellery collection is quiet cool and very very affordable, with some sparkling statement necklaces for under $100! I need to have a closer look at the rings but for $148 it is definitely worth a squizz! www.bcbg.com

Another option is the new Repossi and Alexander Wang collaborated collection. They created designs with the signature ring silhouette which provocatively covers your finger for 1150 Euros. www.colette.fr

Fred`s swimtrainer!

I just ordered one of Fred`s swimtrainers for Sebastian. Recommended by a friend in Zurich and saw how easy it is to put on...I was sold! The trainer is great as you can use it from when your baby is just 3 months, 6 kgs, till 4 years. It supports the baby in the correct swimming position with a harness so they are lying in the water being able to freely move their arms and legs promoting their reflexes in the water.
Front view, straps go over the shoulders so they do not slide.
Backview,  supports the tummy for a lying position.

Best to google the name and search for the best price as it seems to vary a lot on the internet.
Let`s go swimming!!:)

Push Present!

So I got a comment on my blog this morning asking me what a "PUSH PRESSIE" is and well girls this is something you should def. know about!:) A push present is a gift you get from your husband for "pushing" out your little miracle and even though your baby is the greatest gift you will ever get a bit of bling bling doesn`t hurt:)

Philipp was always a bit skeptical of the push pressie but after the birth he said I def. deserved one!! Sooooo.....I am still searching for the perfect gift even though he has already been spoiling me. Traditionally it is a ring or a piece of jewellery which is given but it doesn`t have to be super expensive more something which will hold sentimental value.

So for all the Fathers reading, this is good for you to note....no pressure!!:)))

Some push pressie ideas to get you thinking...

The Sentimental:
A piece of jewellery with your babies birth stone... Sebastian`s is a diamond..isn`t that a stroke of luck!!
The Classic:
Tiffany`s charm bracelet or celebration rings...You can go for the charms in sterling silver or gold.  A charm or a sparkling band can then be added or stacked for each special moment to come.

The fashionista:
Worth to have a look at on trend boutique jewellery designers which are selling unique and affordable fine jewellery. Ginette NY, delicate and refined gold jewellery, special pendants with your or your babies initials can be customed made. www.ginette-ny.com
Vanessa Tugendhaft has a gorgeous selection of bracelets with delicate motifs in pavé diamonds. www.vtjoaillerie.com Pretty Pretty!!
Stephen Webster, recently launched a successful sterling silver collection which is fabulous...even though his fine jewellery is hard to beat. www.stephenwebster.com

The big spender:
When money is no object and we can dream for a minute I would kill for the Allegra De Grisogono ring or the Cartier Panther ring:)

So girls, what is on your wish list??!!

Another babies wardrobe essential!

So now that I have become a master of the "quick clothing change" ....allowing for only minimal screaming :) I have some advice on wardrobe essentials!
First of all as mentioned a few times in my blog.... you need babygrows and lots!! Especially if winter, thats all babies will want to wear! I love the plain white ones... so easy to wash and all babies look just adorable in white. Try to buy baby grows which button up the front as when they are new borns it is a bit nerve wracking to pull something over their little wobbly head.

Then the next MUST is a great pair of slouchy elasticated pants... I def. did not have enough when Sebastian was born. They were also not so easy to find...either to bulky or the elasticated waist band felt so tight or they were for girls! But I can def. recommend the pants from Imps and ElfsA trendy, yet practical and affordable Dutch brand which are not only committed to fair trade but use the softest organic cotton. They have a great cut for maximum movement and Sebastian is living in his! Have a look at their website as they are oozing some serious cool baby style! www.imps-elfs.com

Also another tip for summer... it is all about layering! When you go out and it is hot it is so easy to just pull off the pants as apposed to removing a snug all in one.. I learnt the hard way with a little tantrum down Bahnhofstrasse which was not fun yet all part of the steep learning curve!!:))

10-year anniversary of Bulgari`s iconic B.zero1 ring

In order to celebrate the B.zero1 rings 10th Anniversary Bulgari has launched two ceramic variations as well as collaborating with the very cool contemporary artist Anish Kapoor.

These fabulous rings bring together two of my all time favorites: ceramic and rose gold...what more is there to love! If you can`t decide you need to take both as the white version is perfect for summer and black for winter:))
Always a fan of the collaboration between fashion and art!
Anish Kapoors limited edition ring embodies his works characteristics of bold curved forms and reflective surfaces creating a very modern yet timeless jewellery/art piece. The ring is made of steel and rose gold.

Anish Kapoor  - Cloud gate sculpture

And....it only gets better... at around $900 they seem like a bit of steel from Bulgari.
Could be a great "push" pressie idea!?

Hofmann Photography...

When the very talented Ruth Hofmann of Hofmann Photography asked me if Sebastian wouldn`t mind being a "guinea pig" for a baby shoot I was delighted. I have been trying to take some great pictures of Sebastian but now learnt it is best to leave it to the professionals!

Ruth arrived with some serious camera equipment and a very large bean bag...which ended up being the prop of the day as it created a little cocoon for Sebastian to snuggle in. At first I was nervous as I thought Sebastian may hate this new experience and scream his head off!!  Well, not my boy.....he loved the camera and we stood there amazed at how he smiled, coo..ed and ooo..ed, entertaining us all. He even fell asleep on cue, allowing Ruth to slowly move him into various positions... working the camera even in his sleep! What a natural !:)
I am thrilled with the outcome of the photos, Ruth was a true professional and a star with Sebastian. He felt so at ease with her while she captured sensational and special moments which Philipp and I will cherish forever.

In order to get an idea of her style please view some of my favorite photos through Ruth`s website  www.hofmannphotography.com

What would we do without our Moms??

I am sitting here feeling extremely blessed I have such amazing, supportive parents...my Mom, Sebastian`s "Zsa Zsa" has just left after staying with us for 7 weeks. She helped me give Sebastian the best start to his special life ...and I was lucky my Dad, being the star he is, was willing to let my Mom stay for so long!

My Mom arrived two weeks after Sebastian was born which really worked well as it gave us time to bond as a new family. My Dad had to almost tie my Mom to the chair after I gave birth...as you can imagine, she was dying to meet Sebastian!!! But it was a very special time for the three of us, also allowing me to gain confidence as a new Mom.

During the first few weeks it is really best to have your new born at home, where they feel content. So it was wonderful to have the company and I am lucky that my Mom and I get on so well. We always manage to have a good giggle and enjoyed all the wonderful and daunting new moments with Sebastian.

We really shared a once in a life time experience which I will be forever grateful......love you lots Mom!!
