Jimmy Choo to launch luxury sneakers in May

Jimmy choo - known for creating beautiful sky high heels are launching a stylish line of high and low tops in May. The pre fall launch will consist of 8 designs with exotic snake skin and  suede combining luxury with comfort. But comfort does not come cheap... prices ranging from US$ 470 - US$ 630... but perfect for the super stylish Mom`s who have to run after a toddler!
Overall I think it is great that more luxury brands are launching sneaker designs supporting the trend towards a chic comfy look. Clog results

Thanks to everyone who voted on the Clog Trend!
With 65% "giving this trend a miss" it definitely wont be a firm favorite of "High Heels and Nappies" Moms:)

Good or bad news, this trend will still be important for Autumn Winter 2010. So maybe this gives us time for clogs to grow on us and we will all be clip clopping around next season??

Clogs -love or hate them?

So girls... we are all aware of the Clog trend this season and the shoes are already making a big impression in London at high street level..... but what is it going to be... to wear Clogs or not this Summer?? Please fill out the poll on the right as would love to know your thoughts.
Got to say they did look fabulous on all the Chanel models walking around the hay stacks and are a key accessory for the Prairie Girl trend. Plus can be easily teamed with the seasons bleached denim for a more 90`s Nirvana rock look.

MMmhhhh think I need to go and try a pair on once I have a waist again!

Baby prams - Is the Bugaboo still cool?

In order to buy a pram you need a degree in engineering and a whole lot of patience to find out all the pros and cons before you make this very important purchase because it is not cheap!! Comparable to a small car.:))

It was all about the Bugaboo, and don`t get me wrong, it is still a fabulous pram but I have the feeling it`s glory days are over.  It is now time for some new models to shine...
But hats off to the Dutch as they are definitely the leaders in prams!

I am no expert but there are 3 prams which caught my eye. The first pram is the Hesba  - The Rolls Royce of prams, not very practical unless you have a huge car, huge garden or live in the country....definitely not something zippy for the city. But... it is just gorgeous and worth buying just to look at.....if you can afford it!

Second pram is the Joolz, and here I might be a bit biased as this is the one I bought. :) It is perfect if you are tall as the whole pram is set much higher including an adjustable push bar. (Plus I love the fact it is leather, the foam bars give me the "heebie jeeebies" to touch.)
The high seat is also adjustable to fit a growing baby from 6 months to 4 years and can go totally flat.  Lastly it is very compatible and importantly looks very chic.:)
Tip: the nappy bag is worth buying as it hooks onto the push bar and is therefore very practical to have your hands free. The Maxi Cosi new Pebble car seat can also be clipped on.
But the real test will be to actually use it so I will keep you posted. www.joolz.com

The third pram is a pram which was just recently introduced to me through a "High Heels and Nappies"  Mom and got to say it looks pretty cool. It is called Mutsy and yes it is another Dutch invention. Has a sporty look with lots of versatile features.. worth a looking into. www.mutsy.nl

At the end of the day there are lots of great prams and you need to find one that fits best to your lifestyle. So good luck with the hunt!

Spring Summer 10 ad campaigns HOT HOT HOT!!

There is nothing quiet like a new fashion magazine....crisp clean pages and a hot off the press smell.  I always find it especially exciting to discover the new ad campaigns. I love seeing the photography and the way the leading brands reflect their direction for the season.
My husband always laughs at me because I run my hand over the page as if I can feel the energy. Guess it is just passion for fashion!

So here are some of my favorite campaigns of the season.. some you might have not even seen yet .....getting it first at High Heels and Nappies:)

Pregnancy brain!!

Thought I would share this funny story with you, it will make all other pregnant ladies out there feel better about being a bit clueless over this special time...

A parcel had arrived in the post for me and my husband, Philipp very cleverly put it on top of my car  thinking I would clearly see it when driving off to work.......he obviously forgot I was 8 months pregnant!!

Later on, Philipp called to check if I had got the parcel, which I obviously had not......I then proceeded to rush down to the car, and what do you know, to my disbelief it was still there!!!!!I I drove for 30 mins with the parcel on the roof and managed not to see it getting in or out of the car... although now I understand why everyone was looking at me that morning.. just when I thought I was having a good hair day:))

Big tip: write things down so you dont forget and look up before you get into the car! :)

Grace Kelly - Be inspired by the hollywood icon

If you are in London before the September 26th you must go and see the spectacular wardrobe of the world`s most enduring fashion icon, Grace Kelly. The exhibition is at the Victoria and Albert Museum and it just opened this weekend. If you do manage to attend please share some impressions on my blog as doubt I will be able to get there.

I always find it very interesting how exhibitions effect the fashion trends... and Princess Grace`s impact on fashion is just as strong today as it was in the 1950`s. Her classic yet glamorous look influenced the very feminine trends of Spring Summer 10 and the more restrained and minimal trends which are seen on the Autumn Winter 10  Catwalks. Classic cuts, ladylike accessories including pearls, long gloves and hats will be a must!

So watch premium brands such as Louis Vuitton and Prada to show you the key ladylike silhouettes for next season. Select classic items such as the pencil skirt which will be easily found at more accessible brands and add your own sense of style with directional accessories.

Tik Tok....

No I am not talking about Kesha`s hit song Tik Tok :).. but the fact that I feel like a walking time bomb, with every twinge or cramp I think I am going into labour!!! So writing this blog is a great distraction to all the nervous thoughts which keep running through my head... but I guess it's only natural when you're expecting the first baby.

I am on my 3rd day of maternity leave and it is soooooo nice to have some time for myself.  These few free days ahead feel like pure luxury, allowing time to be pampered...and indeed it was a tough day of manicure, pedicure, wax etc..  Got to look my best for his arrival. :) Plus who knows when I will have time next!

At the moment all my thoughts are about my little prince ...what will he look like, when will he grace us with his presence?? But one thing I am sure of is that it will be the most amazing feeling to hold him in my arms for the first time.. I just can`t wait!!!!!!!!

Stella McCartney for Baby Gap

Stella McCartney designs her second collection for Baby Gap.

"Playful pieces pop against pared down essentials, creating an eclectic mix that lets kids make their own fun style statement".
Loved the gorgeous dresses for girls... plus totally on trend! :) Capturing the the pretty "prairie" look which will be so hot this summer. Thanks to Chanel`s country inspired Spring Summer 10 Catwalk show.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I have not worn or bought a pair of high heels for the past nine months, with the exception of  my brothers wedding. It just had to be done even though I could not feel my feet by the end of the night!
As my pregnancy is almost full term I am getting sooooo excited about shoes, glorious shoes!!! I have spotted these so far.... loving the Lanvin ankle chain detail and the leopard print on the more practical Charlotta Olympia flats...perfect for fashionable Moms on the go!

"Must have" accessory for Autumn Winter 2010

As the Autumn Winter 2010 Catwalks are over - trends are now being analyzed and soon key silhouettes and designer pieces will be in the magazines for you to drool over..
So here is a sneak peak of two key directions for the cuff silhouette, getting it first at "High Heels and Nappies" :)

- Go glam and gold with a baroque touch, double impact with the Celine cuffs, a new modern silhouette which we will all be wanting to wear soon.
- Or a more Rock `n Roll look with black metal, studded hardware and gorgeous natural mineral stones as seen at Chanel and Lanvin.

Stay posted for lots more fashion trends to come...

Cool baby gifts!

Sophie the Giraffe!!

I received Sophie as a gift from 2 very fashionable Moms/friends. Which is great as I heard it is always good to have a back up of his/her favorite toy in case one gets thrown out of the pram. Sophie is definitely going to be my baby`s best new chewy friend and seems to be the celebrity babies choice too!

Welcome to my blog for fashionable Moms....

As you can see from my very round tummy I am 9 months pregnant and waiting patiently for my baby to arrive in the next 2 weeks. Time has flown due to working full time for a leading fashion jewellery brand. Researching new fashion trends and concepts which will be hot 18 months from now as well as trying to figure out what my precious new born will need.

Much thought and love went into decorating the nursery, finding a colour scheme that looks fabulous even though I keep reading babies love bright garish colours. Not to mention the other challenges of buying the perfect pram and matching car seat, how to master breast feeding and of course very importantly, getting your baby to sleep through the night :)

But as I enter my maternity leave next week and can`t wait to take on my new role as "Mom" I also don`t want to leave the excitement of the fashion world behind. I am sure there must be other new Moms out there who share my views and want to keep up-to-date with fashion as well as being the best Mom possible.

Join me on the exciting journey of becoming a fashionable Mom who can not only talk about the best tips and advice for their new born but also share the joy of discovering the "must have" accessory of the season!
