....some Christmas gift ideas....boyfriends, husbands take note!

Here are some of my favorite things and are all worthy of being on the Father Christmas wish list!!
So maybe this will inspire all the boyfriends/husbands out there to find something speial for your wives....TIP: Dads, organise a sweet little gift wrapped from your daughter or son for Mommy..always a special touch. Just trying to help you boys score a few points... :))
The new purfume by the very fabulous fashionista Anna Dello Russo...if her energy is some how bottled up in the purfume it should be fabulous ...I love recieving purfume as a gift for me it is a little bit of luxury. Available at www.yoox.com Euros 25 for 8 ml

Lanvin`s Bridal doll key fob....engagments often happen around Christmas time and if you are not sure on the ring then you can always give a sweet gift in order for her to have something special to remember the moment. My husband proposed with an engraved Tiffany`s heart charm bracelet with the words "will you marry me" on the heart charm which I felt was sooooo original and romantic ....I still love wearing it today. You can actually buy a "Marry me" charm today from Tiffanys ..sure they copied Philipp:)!
The new Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2011 Falabella bag £876 ...just because it is gorgeous and well if I opened this pressie I would be jumping for joy!
Jeff Koons for Kiehls....a fabulous cool collaboration which also does it`s bit for charity...spreading the Christmas spirit...: "Jeff Koons who is using his creative genius to help children in need around the world. The Kiehl’s and KOONS partnership will raise awareness and funds through the sale of the Limited Edition Creme de Corps Holiday Collection, a four-product collection featuring the newest formulation, Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter. 100% of Kiehl’s net profits from the sale of each product will benefit The Koons Family Institute, an initiative of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC)."

Tods Holiday limited edition leopard print pony skin ballerinas 510CHF... I managed to snatch a pair as a pre Christmas gift to myself before I left Zurich and have to say they are heavenly:)!!
You can really not go wrong with a Hermès bangle £380..such a classic. Actually anything form Hermès ...so if you are feeling generous we could just add the Birkin bag:)
Love these Ugg moccassins 139 Euros ...looks so snug and cosy.. Ugg ship worldwide for free and so much cheaper than buying them in Zurich. Best to order on the website!

More to come...stay posted!!:)

We are family.....

It is wonderful to be in Cape Town.....happy to finally arrive after a very loooooong flight... Sebastian managed to sleep most of the way although he had to bend his knees in the basinet:) and ended up sleeping on my lap...I was freezing so was enjoying the cuddles.

My Mom and I flew in the same day so we were very lucky my cousin Caroline had kindly done the shopping. Sebastian had nappies and the fridge was full, so we could come home and relax. Sebastian`s Godmother, Caroline delivered a cot, high chair, toys etc so we were very organised.... thanks to the fabulous Carolines!!:)

On Saturday I met up with all my very special school friends for lunch who I have known for as far back as I can remember. I miss them all so much but even though I live a million miles away it is just like old times as soon as we get together...as if we have never been apart. Over the years we have shared so many wonderful, crazy, and unforgettable moments.... and now the joys of Motherhood with fifteen children between us and two on the way! (Including Natalie who could not make it)
True friendships which I cherish and hope Sebastian one day will be as lucky to find too.
We went to the Uitsig restaurant which is one of my favorites in Cape Town... a must if you are visting...the second restaurant on the Uitsig estate, La Colombe is also amazing and been voted the best restaurant in South Africa !! Philipp and I love going for long romantic lunches in the garden....it is hard too beat!
Beautiful views of Uitsig Estate..

Sun, fun and Christmas lights....Cape Town here we come!!!

So just as I was getting into the snowy Swiss winter....I am off to sunny Cape Town, Yipppy!!!...Sun, beach, cold Savanah cider and Christmas lights!:) Bring on the festive season...

I am crossing fingers Sebastian is going to be a star on the flight again...yet it is the connecting flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town which is a killer....but all worth it once you are there. There are also a whole new set of challenges for this flight now Sebastian is 7 months....got to workout how to feed him breakfast without being covered in apple puree and praying he will fit in the bassinet....it is definately going to be cosy!

I am dying to introduce Sebastian to his fabulous South African family and special friends. Lots of playdates and Mommy time already planned and Zsa Zsa, who will be there to meet us can not wait to give Sebastian a cuddle and of course lots of baby sitting:))

So please keep posted while High Heels and Nappies is in Cape Town as there will be lots of fun under the sun coming your way!

Have a look at Peanut & Pip website under the section decor to find lots of wall stickers for boys and girls.....happy sticking!

My Lanvin and H&M experience...

Well I came close to being beaten up by an old lady who was clearly a Lanvin lover this morning!! Yip nothing like a bit of designer chaos to get the blood running...

It was rather an exhausting yet eventful morning as on arrival (9:30am) I was relieved to see there were no crazy queues but to find out you needed a special band to get into the cornered off section, 5 security guards etc...no way of charming yourself in there!
The  Lanvin section was only opening at 11am to the rest of the fans without pink bands! So after running around town doing some errands I headed back to H&M to a massive queue and everyone trying to be in the first batch at 11am..note this is when the old lady lost it!:) They were letting only 20 people in at a time where we had 20 mins to shop with the help of an assistant who would hold your potential purchases and help you to the dressing room... which in that respect it was very organized.. typical Swiss:)

Once I was finally in I tried on a number of dresses and they really did not look fabulous.. I don't do puffy and frilly very well! I also tried on a layered black lace skirt but it was sooooo heavy ended up leaving it as did not want to be suckered into buying it just because it was Lanvin! Well after all that I left with a fab T-shirt, a black tuxedo jacket, a bright red necklace which I love and a pink lipstick! Very happy with my purchases and was fun to be part of the LANVIN madness!!

Burberry - personalized trench coat service to be available in 2011!!

Oh this is interesting news for all the Burberry fans out there....an innovative online digital platform is due to hit early next year allowing consumers to adapt the iconic Burberry trench coat with your own personalized details.  You will be able to choose your style, colour, fabric, lining, buttons, embellishment as well as individual details such as initials. There will be more than 12 million possible versions of the coat , yet prices have not been revealed. Each coat will be finished in their Yorkshire based factory.

This sounds like a lot of fun and a Burberry Trench coat is one of those good investment pieces as they always look chic and elegant no matter what you are wearing underneath....perfect for the morning school run with your pyjamas underneath:) ....dying to try the new tool and well lets see the price before I hit the order button...yet i think the biggest problem will be to decide on the perfect combination!

Emma Watson wearing the first bespoke Trench coat which Christopher Bailey gave her as a gift ....great to be famous, hey!:)
The "mini adult" version of the Burberry trench for kids $350
Just a gorgeous pic of Kate in her trench...

The wide wheels help keep balance and stability. Innovative handlebars integrated into the chassis itself boast an ergonomic design to help ensure a good driving position.

Marie-Chantal...beautiful clothing for beautiful children

A true Princess designing clothing for your own little Prince and Princess... how good does that sound?:)
The Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece has a successful childrens clothing line named Marie-Chantal which offers a range of gorgeous clothing for babies, boys and girls as well as fun toys and accessories. Marie-Chantal has five beautiful children and so she definitely knows what she is talking about and no doubt practicality and comfort is considered in every piece as well as embodying her very own stylish elegance.

Marie-Chantal have just launched their new website where you can view the entire range and shop easily...although the delivery to Zurich is quiet expensive, best to look at the store list and plan a visit.
I love the signature angel wing range... super cute cosy onesies available in velour or soft cashmere including jerseys for girls.

I often get asked where you can find nice Christening outfits and so take note that Marie-Chantal has a pretty collection which is not too crazy expensive ranging from £65 - £178

Super stylish little ones!

SOLD...unfortunately not to Mr Steinberger.. for...

CHF45,442,500.00 or £28, 732, 231.33
WOW, but what a beauty!!

TOM FORD IS SMOKING HOT!!...

Got to say Mr. Ford (as he would rather be known as these days)  is rather gorgeous!!!
I am sure many women are sad that he is batting for the other team...

Well after six years Tom Ford presented his first women`s wear collection in New York on the 12th September yet interestingly he banned journalists from revealing the collection till now. Read his comments behind this thought process..
.
“I do not understand everyone’s need to see everything online the day after a show,” he says. “I don’t think it ultimately serves the customer, which is the whole point of my business—not to serve journalists or the fashion system. To put something out that’s going to be in a store in six months, and to see it on a starlet, ranked in US magazine next week? My customer doesn’t want to wear the same thing she saw on a starlet!”

I rather like his thinking....a bit of secrecy and anticipation keeps the excitement alive once the collection hits the stores....what do you think?

Vogue have written a fantastic article about the gorgeous Tom Ford, his women's wear collection as well as some rather personal and daring stories which is definitely worth a read! Vogue -Tom Ford article
